On Our Toes

We are always on the lookout for short Bike Rides( within 30-40 km) from where we stay near Tumkur Road in Bangalore.

I got to know about Shri Ramalingeshwara Temple, Baradi from a travel blog, and on a holiday, we decided to explore this place.

It is barely 30 km from our house. Once we start moving towards Nelamangala, from the main road, we took right turn, which transported us into another world.

The road passed through villages and became narrower and narrower till it was merely a dirt track, and we were the only ones on the road.

Finally, when we were just 500 m from the temple (it required a climb either on foot or bike) we decided it would be better to turn back, as it was just the 2 of us, and a large group of bikers nearby.

However, the beauty of the blue sky, the contrasting green graas and boulders strewn over the countryside were a sight to behold.

It came as a complete surprise that just 30km from a bustling metropolis like Bangalore, we could find such a peaceful spot.
